Travis Ford graduated from Mountain Home High School in 1990. After high school, he set out for an accounting degree at Missouri State University where he graduated cum laude in 1995 with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. From there, he went to the University of Arkansas, School of Law – Fayetteville, obtaining his Juris Doctorate Degree and Arkansas attorney’s license in 1998. Travis acquired his Missouri attorney’s license in 2000. After spending several years in various areas of law practice and accounting (mostly in Northwest Arkansas), he and his wife, Kara, returned to Mountain Home in 2008 to raise their family.
Upon coming home, Travis has worked heavily in the areas of family law and estate planning, and now specializes in family-focused estate planning services (hence the name) for people of all walks of life and estates of all sizes. He is a Certified Mediator for Arkansas Circuit Courts and an Attorney Ad Litem for children.
Kara Ford graduated Mountain Home High School in 1993 and went on to the University of Arkansas where she received her Accounting Degree in 1997. Thereafter, she spent many years in corporate accounting, working mainly for Tyson Foods and Pace Industries. In 2003, Kara earned her Certified Public Accountant’s license (CPA). She joined forces with Travis in 2009 bringing with her additional business and tax expertise.
Travis is a member of the American Bar Association, Arkansas Bar Association and Baxter County Bar Association. He has served on the Good Samaritan Board of Advisors, the Mountain Home Education Foundation Advisory Board, the Board of Directors for Serenity, Inc., and been a mentor for the Mountain Home Guy Berry Alternative School.
Kara is very active in our community helping local children through Junior Auxiliary, where she has served as Treasurer, Vice President and President. She has served as a mentor for the Mountain Home Guy Berry Alternative School and on the Board of Directors of The Hayden Padgett Safe In His Arms Foundation.
